You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. John 15:16
It can be very disappointing whenever a person is not chosen among others for a very important task, job, gift, admission, scholarship, promotion etc, especially after a great expectations. Or having to be addressed as someone chosen because there was nobody else to choose from!
God did not choose us because of our abilities or because there was nobody else to choose from, His main reason for choosing us is because of the love He has for us.
We had flaws but God still choose us to be His own "Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him." 1John 3:1
A certain man once asked a theologian, “Why did Jesus choose Judas Iscariot to be His disciple?” The reply was revealing “I do not know, but I have an even harder question: Why did Jesus choose me?”
Nobody was chosen by God because he or she was perfect. The Bible says it's not even easy to die for a righteous man and talk less of a sinner but Jesus died for us while we were still sinners.
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:7-8
God look beyond our shortcomings and choose us for a purpose... Moses had an anger issue but God choose him! David had a moral issue but God chose him!
Let's also examine some of the disciples chosen by Jesus; Peter had emotional issues but Jesus chose him, Thomas had a doubting issue but Jesus chose him, Matthew had integrity issues but Jesus chose him.
God has chosen you to bring the best out of you. Just the way He chose Moses, David, Peter, Paul, Daniel, Samson, Matthew, Esther, Deborah etc and brought the best out of them so God has chosen you to bring the best out of you!
If it's by God's standards, we couldn't have lived up to the standards of what it means to be chosen. Jesus has been made the standard on our behalf. He is the Chosen One and in Him, we are called the chosen ones because God the Father has chosen us in Him.
God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit never had to look at our credentials or screen us to know if we were qualified but one thing that is most important to God is that Jesus Christ died for you and me to qualify us. Jesus Christ makes us righteous, holy and acceptable in the eyes of God the Father.
God would have chosen someone more talented, more skilful but He choose you. He did not use your past to access you before choosing you! We saw in the scriptures, how Saul was a big enemy of the church yet God choose him and use him mightily to bless many lives. "But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. Acts 9:15
You and I have been created for a purpose. These earthen vessels are made to be filled with the Treasure which is the presence and the power of Jesus Christ. We can only fulfil the purpose for which we have been chosen by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
Stop worrying over your situations, the God who chose you can change you and change everything around you. He knew everything about you before He chose you.
The chosen is God's initiative to train you and prepare you, so you can manifest the authority of His kingdom and bear more fruit in the name of Jesus!
Are you born again? If yes, live with the consciousness of God's chosen and confess to yourself " I am God's chosen" as many times as possible until it sinks deep into you. Don't go through life being chosen but never being able to recognise it or manifest it.
Also, do you want to be God's chosen? If yes, welcome Jesus into your life by making this confession below;
Almighty God, I believe with all my heart that Jesus is the son of God and He is the Lord of my life. I believe He died for me and God raised Him from the dead. I believe He is alive forever. I have eternal life through Him and His name. I am born again. Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul! I am now a child of God. Amen.
