Meditation activates God's word in your spirit. It brings the reality and revelation of God's word to your mind and your body. It gives you a continuous awareness of God's presence in your life.
In times of challenges, the word of God can calm your heart through meditation. The assurance of God's faithfulness, love, and sovereignty over all things come alive in your spirit by the power of meditation.
Your mind becomes enlightened to see your situations through the eyes of God and receive a sense of joy, knowing that He is in control.
Meditation goes beyond thinking or pondering over God's Word. There is much more to meditation than pondering over God's word.
The Bible says “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua1:8
This Bible verse gives us a deeper meaning of meditation which goes beyond pondering on God's Word. The Hebrew word that was used as meditation in this Scripture is the word "Hagar" meaning imagine; mutter. The word "roar" is also used to describe it. That means, there is more to just pondering or imagining God's word during meditation.
You can experience God's power more than ever before when you pay more details to the different stages of meditation.
At the first stage of imagining or pondering on God's word, you can capture the power and revelation in God's word by picturing it. God's word becomes more like pictures in your mind and gains more root in you.
The second stage of meditation is the mutter of God's word. This is the stage where you are engulfed with the power of God's word through meditation and start producing sounds and speaking words from your spirit. At this point, it has gone beyond the written words and becomes your word from God.
It doesn't stop there; the third stage is the roar of God's word, where shouting aloud the word of God becomes inevitable. You roar by the power of God's word because of your access to deeper meditation. As you shout God's word to yourself, the word of God says “…for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”.
There is an unbeatable power in meditation, initiate a consistent practice of meditation on God's word. Make out time alone to meditate on God's word and become the word of God the Bible talks about "For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:22
